Kevin is the leader and CEO of the Healthy Home Academy as well as the owner and co-founder of the Academy’s sister company, Healthy Home Energy and Consulting (HHE&C). He has been in the eco-building field for over thirty years. After becoming frustrated with the lack of qualified candidates in the industry he set out to correct the lack of training by creating the Healthy Home Academy. Kevin is not just our leader but a very active teacher. Besides designing the Academy curriculum, he is a hands-on instructor of virtually every class offered at the Academy.

Kevin is a BPI Building Analyst Professional, BPI Envelope Professional, BPI AC & Heat Pump Professional, BPI Heating Professional and is EPA Lead Safe Certified, RESNET Accredited HERS Rater, a NAHB Certified Green Professional, and Certified Insulation Installer. He is also NABCEB certified in PV / Solar for site, design, and installation.

Over the course of 30 years in the home-building business, Kevin fell in love with building science and the home performance world. He earned certifications from the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) and Building Performance Institute (BPI), educated himself in the latest and greatest technologies, and founded HHEC. When he isn’t learning more about building science or building his own Net Zero Energy home, Kevin enjoys American History, watersports, and snowboarding. He earned a BA in Psychology from Binghamton University and a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine.  He can be reached at kbrenner@healthyhomeacademy.org
